This presentation is great — good to get on the same page with expectations, I needed that, and great info to know the psychology you’re using. ... One question re regulation breaks. Once teachers are settled could we get some suggestions for this at home? They are frequent and I know in in person class they used to do group games with clapping etc ... I’m at a loss of what to provide :) But not urgent, just like eventually ,...

Are the "New" apps cumulative. So a new 4th grader could be using all the apps across grades?

Is “typing club” an app to learn how to touch type? That’s great!! Our kid is frustrated with how long it takes her to express her ideas because she types slowly with only two fingers.

Can the GMail app be downloaded instead of going through the browser?
Claudia Zervoulakos

Nope… you have to get a link from the teacher
Christina Varner
01:01:56
If I used Seesaw Family in my phone last year, should I delete and reinstall?
Petra she/her
01:02:18
Fonseca was asking:

01:02:19
parents should email teachers directly or via seesaw to communicate issues
Rachel Masters
01:02:28
My Seesaw from last year seems to be still working...
Greg Vena
01:02:41
Should we NOT download any other apps onto the CDS iPads?
Brian Zeiger
01:02:42
For tech questions in real time, is it helpful if families ask each other if you guys are inundated and someone might know? Or does that risk creating confusion if we’re ever wrong? (Kind of asking as a liaison if we should be encouraging more informal questions during day of each other.)
RICO TESTACCT

Has Kindergarten QR codes for Seesaw been issued and I missed it?
RICO TESTACCT

@greg - The CDS iPads are managed by us using JAMF. Parent won’t be able to download apps.

Henry, the QRcode was in the bag with the iPad.

Is there a problem with parents loading and accessing the child’s seesaw account info for themselves? Why must we — or why should we — use the truncated family version?
Alexei Angelides
01:04:11
Will there be “training sessions” for the new apps that Kindergartners haven’t received? Or will that be unnecessary?
Henry Ring
01:04:12
Great, so will be in bag with IPad when kindergarten iPads get here
Claudia Zervoulakos

Super interesting to hear all of the apps being used by all the people and how they differ and why we’re using them, but they’re all new to a lot of us too and even poking at seesaw today was making me see double. :)

btw, it was a little odd to receive a PDF with the QR codes for all of the kids in the class. from a digital etiquette perspective, it would be nicer to not expose the privacy of each kid to the whole class in this way in case there are families who are more private with their digital privacy than others
